Baku: Azerbaijan has exported nearly 17 million tons of oil to 20 countries in the first nine months of this year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, a report by the State Customs Committee reveals that from January to September, Italy imported 9,589,365.7 tons of Azerbaijani oil, valued at 4,992,915.19 thousand US dollars, making it the top importer of Azerbaijan’s oil.

The Czech Republic secured the second position, importing 1,307,899.13 tons of oil worth 701,374 thousand US dollars. Croatia followed, with 998,469.46 tons of oil valued at 537,768.29 thousand US dollars imported during the same period.

The data provided covers the value of exported oil whose customs clearance was completed within the reporting timeframe. In total, Azerbaijan exported 16,996,208.46 tons of oil, amounting to 8,938,864.59 thousand US dollars, to 20 countries.

The list of countries importing Azerbaijani oil also includes Germany with 841,915.48 tons, Romania with 778,615.54 tons, and Portugal with 714,269.12 tons. Other notable importers are Greece, Great Britain, and Ireland, among others, with varying quantities and values of oil imports.

This extensive export activity underscores Azerbaijan’s significant role in the global oil market, with Italy, the Czech Republic, and Croatia being the top destinations for its oil exports.
