Azerbaijan’s Parliamentary Delegation Fosters Strategic Ties in Bucharest

Bucharest: Azerbaijan's parliamentary delegation, led by Deputy Speaker Ziyafat Asgarov and Azay Guliyev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Romania Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, engaged in a series of meetings with Romanian counterparts to strengthen bilateral ties. The delegation met with members of the Romanian-Azerbaijani Friendship Group at the Romanian Senate, headed by Marian Neacsu.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Marian Neacsu recalled his previous visit to Azerbaijan and acknowledged the shared qualities such as hospitality and kindness that bind the two nations. He emphasized the strategic importance Romania places on its relationship with Azerbaijan, as evidenced by the appointment of high-ranking officials to lead the Friendship Group.

Deputy Speaker Ziyafat Asgarov conveyed the Azerbaijani people's deep sympathy for Romania and its citizens, highlighting the successful development of their traditional friendship and strategic partnership. He thanked the Romanian government and Senate leadership for supporting the conference marking the 103rd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and for their efforts to honor his memory in Romania.

Azay Guliyev underscored the importance of advancing inter-parliamentary relations and expanding cooperation between the friendship groups, particularly on international platforms. Following the meetings, the Azerbaijani delegation visited Tei Park in Bucharest to honor National Leader Heydar Aliyev by laying flowers at his bust.
