Baku: Kazakh media outlets have widely covered the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), set to take place in Baku on May 17-22. Reports focused on megacity development, affordable housing, sustainability, and innovation, describing the forum as a key UN platform for urban planning and sustainable urban development.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, 'Kazinform' News Agency described the World Urban Forum as a major global platform on urbanization, climate change, and sustainable development. It highlighted challenges such as poverty, inequality, strained infrastructure, pollution, and informal construction, while stressing the need for affordable housing, better public transport, cultural heritage protection, and safe public spaces.
'Enbekshi QazaQ' and 'Newspress.kz' noted that WUF13 will transform Baku into a global urban development hub. The event is expected to bring together 176 countries to focus on sustainability, smart cities, and innovation. Meanwhile, 'Qaz-Media.kz' emphasized its aim to promote global dialogue and solutions for safer, more sustainable, and accessible cities.
