Azerbaijan’s President Approves New Editorial Board for National Encyclopedia

BAKU: President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan has signed a decree establishing a new composition for the editorial board of the Azerbaijan National Encyclopedia. The decree appoints President Aliyev as the Chairman of the Editorial Board, with several prominent figures from the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS) and various cultural institutions as members. According to Trend News Agency, the decree appoints Akif Alizadeh, a full member of ANAS and Director of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, and Ibrahim Guliyev, Vice President of ANAS, as Vice-Chairpersons of the board. Anar Rzayev, People's Writer and Chairman of the Azerbaijani Union of Writers, is also named as a Vice-Chairperson. Habibbayli Isa, President of ANAS, will serve as the Editor-in-Chief, while Naghiyev Tofiq, Vice President of ANAS, will take on the role of Executive Secretary. The board's membership includes influential figures such as Abdullayev Kamal, People's Writer and Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages , and Badalbayli Farhad, People's Artist and Rector of the Baku Musical Academy. The board also features experts like Bilalov Bilal, Head of the Department at the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, and Jafarov Nizami, Director of the Ataturk Center in Azerbaijan. The inclusion of various full and corresponding members of ANAS underscores the scientific and cultural expertise guiding the encyclopedia's editorial direction.
