Baku: Khalaf Khalafov, Representative of the President of Azerbaijan on Special Assignments, met with Kairat Sarybay, Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), in Baku. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on issues related to the agenda of Azerbaijan's current chairmanship of CICA.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting highlighted the importance of the establishment of the Partnership Network of Leading Universities, the CICA Women Council, and the CICA Finance Summit at Azerbaijan's initiative. The discussions also focused on the large-scale activities carried out in the fields of economic cooperation, climate sustainability, water security, women's empowerment, youth, education, media, tourism, transport, and logistics. The sides noted Azerbaijan's significant contribution to strengthening the organization and advancing its development.

The meeting emphasized CICA's role in strengthening cooperation and promoting peace, security, stability, and sustainable development both in the region and globally. Khalaf Khalafov noted that the CICA Summit, set to be held this year during Azerbaijan's chairmanship, will play an important role in strengthening mutual understanding and confidence among member states.
