Baku: The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has expressed a strong interest in collaborating with Azerbaijan within the transport sector. This was conveyed by Evgeny Vinokurov, Vice Chairman of the EDB Management Board, during a discussion with AZERTAC.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the EDB is known for its involvement in large-scale and internationally significant projects, particularly in the transport sector. Vinokurov emphasized the Bank's enthusiasm for engaging in potential partnerships with Azerbaijan, focusing on financing the development of railway and highway infrastructure, modernizing ports and airports, and investing in the purchase of wagons and locomotives. Additionally, the collaboration may extend to shipbuilding and shipyard infrastructure.

Vinokurov highlighted that the transport sector offers substantial opportunities for strategic cooperation between the EDB and Azerbaijan. He noted that the expertise of the Bank's specialists could be leveraged in major transport infrastructure projects currently underway in Azerbaijan.
