Azerbaijan’s Reconstruction Efforts Focus on Human-Centered Urban Planning

Baku: Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted the importance of integrating transport corridors, infrastructure, and urban development during his speech at the event titled 'Cities at the heart of connectivity: Urban reconstruction and regional cooperation - How can urban reconstruction turn cities into engines of regional connectivity and shared prosperity?' This event was part of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Minister Bayramov emphasized that the development of modern transport corridors significantly impacts settlement processes, industrial development, labor mobility, investment targets, housing demand, and climate resilience. He stressed the importance of sustainable and well-planned urban areas in delivering long-term economic and social advantages.

The Foreign Minister added that Azerbaijan is undertaking extensive reconstruction and restoration in its liberated territories. The rebuilding efforts are grounded in the principles of sustainability, smart governance, green energy, climate resilience, and human-centered urban planning, aiming to transform cities, settlements, and villages into future-ready communities.
