Azerbaijan’s Role Emphasized at SCO Energy Ministers Meeting

Bishkek: Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Energy, Kamal Abbasov, took part in the 6th meeting of the Energy Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Abbasov addressed key issues related to energy security and sustainability, stressing the importance of clean energy technologies and international cooperation in the rapidly changing global energy landscape.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Abbasov underscored Azerbaijan's commitment to enhancing its relations with the SCO as a Dialogue Partner. He outlined the strategic significance of the 'Central Asia-Azerbaijan Green Energy Corridor' project, which aims to bolster energy connectivity across Central Asia, the South Caucasus, Trkiye, and China. The project is poised to provide new opportunities for electricity transmission along the Middle Corridor, linking Europe and Asia.
