Baku: Azerbaijani club Sabah lost 4-0 to English team Manchester United in their first Champions League match at Old Trafford. The goals for Manchester United were scored by Matheus Cunha in the 27th minute, Bruno Fernandes in the 42nd, Benjamin Sheshko just before halftime in the 45th, and Lisandro Martinez in the 69th minute.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Aleksey Isayev, who graduated from Yenisey Krasnoyarsk, entered the field for Sabah in the 63rd minute. Du Queiroz, who is on loan from Zenit, came on for the Azerbaijani club in the 75th minute, following the entry of Abdulakh Khaibulayev from Khasavyurt three minutes earlier.
Sabah has become only the second Azerbaijani club to reach the Champions League. The first was Qarabag, who qualified for the group stage in the 2017/18 season and participated in the overall stage in the 2025/26 season.
In their upcoming matches, Manchester United will face Atl©tico Madrid away, while Sabah will play against Slavia Prague at home. Both games are scheduled for October 13.
