Baku:The State Border Service of Azerbaijan intercepted more than 593 kilograms of narcotics in September, as part of its ongoing initiative to curb drug trafficking.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the State Border Service's Press Center reported the discovery and removal of 593 kilograms and 439 grams of narcotics, along with 11,504 pills with various compositions, from illegal distribution channels.
The report detailed that 296 kilograms and 178 grams of the seized drugs had been transported using aerial vehicles on multiple occasions.
In the same month, the State Border Service also detained 324 individuals wanted by law enforcement agencies, subsequently handing them over to the relevant authorities. Additionally, border guards stopped 855 individuals banned from leaving Azerbaijan from departing, and prevented 54 individuals subject to entry bans from entering the country.
