Hanoi: At the invitation of the Supreme People’s Court of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, a delegation led by Inam Karimov, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan and Chairman of the Judicial-Legal Council, paid an official visit to the country. As part of the visit, Inam Karimov met with Nguy?n Van Quang, Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam. Nguy?n Van Quang emphasized the significance of the relationship upgrade as a foundation for fostering bilateral cooperation, expressing his hope that Karimov’s visit would enhance collaboration between the two nations’ court systems.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Nguy?n Van Quang briefed the Azerbaijani delegation on the judicial reforms within Vietnam’s People’s Court system. He highlighted the restructuring efforts aimed at creating a more streamlined and efficient system, alongside the advancements in digital transformation and improvements in personnel quality. Quang expressed his hope for increased exchanges and information sharing on judicial and legal reforms between the two countries.

Inam Karimov expressed Azerbaijan’s readiness to collaborate on enhancing judicial activity and the digitalization of courts. He outlined Azerbaijan’s own judicial and legal reforms, including efforts to improve the efficiency of justice through digitalization. The meeting also involved discussions on joint activities and new legal initiatives to strengthen cooperation in the judicial field.

The Azerbaijani delegation also visited the People’s Court of Hanoi City and the People’s Court of Quang Ninh Province. They were informed about the courts’ structure, operating principles, workload, and annual statistical indicators. Shovgi Mehdizade, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Vietnam, also attended the meetings.
