Azerbaijan’s Utility Sector Sees Revenue Growth in First Quarter


Baku: In the first quarter of this year, Azerbaijan’s electricity, gas, and steam production, distribution, and supply sector produced goods and services valued at 1,018.5 million manats, marking a 1.2% year-on-year increase.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this growth was reported by the State Statistical Committee, highlighting the sector’s improved performance compared to the same period in the following year, 2024.



Additionally, the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector reported the production of goods valued at 141.5 million manats. This figure represents a 3% increase over the previous year’s numbers, indicating a positive trend in this sector as well.



In contrast, last year saw the electricity, gas, and steam production sector produce goods and services worth 3,137.3 million manats, which was a 1.7% decrease compared to 2023. Meanwhile, the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector in 2024 produced goods valued at 628.4 million manats, marking a 2.7% increase year-on-year.
