According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, there have been multiple incidents where cyber fraudsters have used the name of "AzerGold" CJSC to orchestrate scams aimed at stealing financial and personal information from unsuspecting individuals. These fraudulent activities exploit the public's trust in the state-owned company, falsely presenting it as the organizer of high-return investment projects.
The scammers employ a range of deceptive tactics, including the unauthorized use of "AzerGold" CJSC's corporate style, logo, and images of its executives. They direct individuals to counterfeit websites designed to mimic the official site of "AzerGold" CJSC. Additionally, some victims have reported receiving contact from foreign phone numbers or messaging apps, where they are asked to provide sensitive information such as bank card details, ID card information, and one-time confirmation codes.
"AzerGold" CJSC has clarified that the company does not engage in soliciting investments via social networks or unofficial platforms and does not request financial or banking details from citizens. The company emphasized its lack of association with these fraudulent schemes and urged individuals to seek information strictly from official company channels and other credible sources.
To combat these scams, "AzerGold" CJSC advises the public to avoid clicking on suspicious links and to refrain from disclosing any personal or financial information. Citizens are encouraged to report any fraudulent activities to the appropriate law enforcement authorities immediately.
