Baku Court of Appeal Upholds Sentence Against Miradalat Talishkhanov

Baku: A court hearing was conducted regarding the appeal filed against the verdict for Miradalat Talishkhanov, who faced charges for making open calls against the state. This development was reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the hearing took place at the Baku Court of Appeal under the supervision of Judge Afgan Alakbarov. The decision from the court concluded with the verdict remaining unchanged. Previously, the Baku Court of Grave Crimes had sentenced Talishkhanov to six years in prison.

Miradalat Talishkhanov was detained by the State Security Service of Azerbaijan. The charges brought against him were under Articles 32.4 and 281.2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which pertain to incitement to making open calls against the state, especially if such acts are committed repeatedly or by a group. Talishkhanov is known to have a background in law enforcement agencies.
