Baku Engineering University and ACCA Explore Collaborative Initiatives

Baku: The Baku Engineering University (BEU) hosted a meeting with representatives from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) to discuss potential future cooperation areas and international certification opportunities for students.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Rector of BEU, Yagub Piriyev, highlighted the university's commitment to aligning its education quality with international standards and emphasized the importance of international cooperation as a strategic development goal. He noted that collaboration with ACCA, a reputable international organization, could create new career opportunities for students in the Faculty of Economics and Management. Piriyev pointed out that students would gain access to internationally recognized certificates in finance and accounting, enhancing their knowledge and skills to meet global standards.

The rector also mentioned that many international and local companies prefer candidates with ACCA certifications for relevant positions. He discussed the importance of intensifying and systematizing cooperation with the association. ACCA representatives, Senem Ross-Forrester for Azerbaijan and Georgia, and Tariro Masukumen, Head of Eurasia and Middle East Relations (Education), provided insights into the organization. They noted that ACCA operates in over 180 countries, with more than 258,000 members and 500,000 registered students. The representatives expressed satisfaction with their partnership with BEU and praised the high caliber of students.

Discussions also included implementing ACCA programs at BEU, organizing joint seminars, training sessions, and professional development initiatives for academic staff. Further expansion of cooperation with the Faculty of Economics and Management, concessions applied by ACCA for students, and special training in relevant subjects were also topics of discussion during the meeting.
