Baku Hosts Discussions on Protecting Islamic Cultural Heritage and Religious Institutions

Baku: The 12th meeting of the Standing Specialized Committee on Cultural Affairs, Legal Affairs, and Dialogue of Civilizations and Religions was convened alongside the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States in Baku. Chaired by Kamal Jafarov, a member of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, the meeting focused on significant issues related to the protection of Islamic cultural heritage and religious institutions.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting also addressed the challenge of combating Islamophobia and the importance of expanding dialogue among civilizations. The discussions underscored the necessity for joint action and cooperation in safeguarding the common interests of the Islamic world, with an emphasis on preserving cultural and religious values.

Participants of the meeting highlighted the critical need for strengthened collaboration among OIC member states. The goal is to ensure the protection and continuation of Islamic heritage and to foster a deeper understanding between civilizations.
