BAKU — The COP29 Presidency organized an event titled "Strengthening a Sustainable and Persistent Future: The Role of Human Development in Climate Action" on October 11 at the Heydar Aliyev Center. The gathering, which drew participants from across the globe, focused on integrating human development into climate resilience strategies.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the event featured representatives from the World Health Organization, UNESCO, the United Nations Development Programme, UNICEF, the International Labor Organization, and various multilateral development banks. Participants included government officials, international organizations, and civil society and philanthropic organizations. During the event, the "Baku Initiative on Human Development for Climate Resilience" was presented. This initiative was prepared through consultations with global partners and sparked discussions about enhancing climate resilience through human development.

The event provided a platform for exchanging ideas on how human development can be more effectively integrated into climate action plans. The feedback collected from participants at this event is expected to contribute significantly to the enhancement of the Baku Initiative, reinforcing the essential connection between human development and effective climate action strategies.
