BAKU: The Baku Initiative Group has reiterated its commitment to supporting New Caledonia in its struggle against colonialism. The announcement was made by Abbas Abbasov, the Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group, during a press conference where a report on ‘Human Rights Violations in France’s Overseas Territories’ was presented.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Abbasov highlighted concerns regarding the role of a French government-appointed representative in New Caledonia, who is perceived to be upholding and implementing colonial interests. Abbasov emphasized that the Baku Initiative Group will persist in its advocacy for New Caledonia by raising awareness on international platforms. This ongoing cooperation aims to draw global attention to the events unfolding in New Caledonia, as the group continues its efforts to support the territory’s fight against colonialism.
