Baku Initiative Group Reports on Human Rights Concerns in France’s Overseas Territories


BAKU: The Baku Initiative Group has released a report detailing alleged human rights violations in France’s overseas territories, focusing on New Caledonia. Abbas Abbasov, the executive director of the group, presented the report at a press conference, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to address colonial practices and interests in the region.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Abbasov highlighted the group’s commitment to supporting New Caledonia’s fight against colonialism. He announced plans to engage with various international platforms to raise awareness about the situation and stressed the importance of continued cooperation in these efforts.

The report, prepared with assistance from the State Support Agency for NGOs, outlines violations of human rights, freedom of expression, and environmental harm reportedly occurring in the French overseas territories. Abbasov pointed out that the document offers detailed accounts of these violations and criticizes France for allegedly obstructing international aw
areness of the issues at hand.
