BAKU: Changes to the train intervals in the Baku subway system have been announced in preparation for the upcoming COP29 event, as stated by Orkhan Mahmudlu, head of the Transportation and Airport Operations Department of Azerbaijan’s COP29 operating company, during a media tour of the Baku Olympic Stadium.

According to Trend News Agency, Mahmudlu detailed that the Baku Metro will undergo adjustments to the intervals between train services to accommodate the influx of attendees for COP29. However, he emphasized that no additional measures beyond the alteration of train schedules are planned at this time.

The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change is set to take place this November in Azerbaijan, following its announcement during last year’s COP28 plenary meeting in Dubai. The UN Framework Convention, established at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992, aims to prevent hazardous human interventions in the climate system. COP29, part of an
annual series unless otherwise decided, continues the efforts of its 198 member countries to oversee the implementation of this global agreement.
