Baku:Direct train service between Hazi Aslanov and Icherisheher stations has been restored by Baku Metro. This development marks the return of operations on the Hazi Aslanov-Icherisheher section as of October 27, 2026.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, Baku Metro CJSC confirmed that before the service restoration, necessary technical checks were performed. These included clearance dimension assessments using a maintenance train and test runs conducted under high voltage. The inspections confirmed the safety of train traffic, reliability of power supply, and the stability of centralized control systems, leading to the facility's acceptance into operation.
As a result, the shuttle train service on the Hazi Aslanov-Ahmadli section has been discontinued. The train operations in the Hazi Aslanov-Icherisheher direction have resumed with an interval of 2 minutes during peak hours and 2 minutes and 30 seconds at other times on the Red Line.
The restoration follows comprehensive reconstruction work aimed at addressing issues with the dead-end track's insulation layer, which had deteriorated over the years due to groundwater and erosion. This project is part of Baku Metro's efforts under the 2025-2030 State Program to modernize metro infrastructure and enhance passenger transportation safety.
