Baku: At the Baku Port of ‘Azerbaijan Railways’ CJSC (ADY), one of the AZCON Holding companies, nearly 7 million tons of cargo or 5.6 percent more were handled in the first 10 months of this year compared to the previous year, ADY told APA-Economics. During the same period, the cargo volume of 86,000 TEU handled at the port exceeded the indicator of the same period of the previous year by more than 38 percent.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the significant increase in cargo handling at Baku Port reflects the growing capability and efficiency of ADY and its role in regional trade. The port’s performance has shown a marked improvement, with the substantial rise in both tonnage and TEU units handled, indicating a robust trend in cargo throughput for the current year. The increase in TEU handling is particularly noteworthy, as it suggests enhanced container traffic and operational proficiency. The figures underline the strategic importance of Baku Port in the logistics and transportation network of the region.
