Baku: On July 31, the five-star Baku Resort and Spa Hotel was inaugurated on the shores of Issyk-Kul Lake in Kyrgyzstan. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, along with other leaders from Central Asia, attended the event. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the region's hospitality sector.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the hotel was built as part of an agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic. The agreement, signed in Bishkek in 2023, aimed to develop a five-star hotel on the shores of Issyk-Kul Lake. Ramin Guluzade, Head of the Administrative Services Department of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, provided a briefing to the attending dignitaries on the facilities available at the hotel in the village of Kara-Oy, Issyk-Kul region.

Covering over 17 hectares, the Baku Resort and Spa offers a unique destination where architecture, culture, art, gastronomy, health, and recreation converge. The complex includes 111 rooms and 10 cottages, accommodating up to 330 guests. The hotel plans to create 255 jobs, a portion of which will be filled by Azerbaijani citizens.

Health and recreation are central to the hotel's offerings, with amenities such as indoor and outdoor pools, an aqua park, and a year-round beach. Gastronomy is also a key feature, with the hotel showcasing Azerbaijani culinary traditions, including national dishes and traditional breakfasts.

For entertainment, the resort provides a variety of options, including a bowling and gaming zone, a cinema, and a multifunctional outdoor sports ground. Additionally, the hotel is equipped with modern facilities for international conferences, corporate meetings, and social events.

Situated on the shores of Issyk-Kul, the world's second-largest mountain lake, the hotel is positioned in a region renowned for its landscapes, mineral-rich waters, and opportunities for year-round recreation, wellness, and cultural tourism. This project enhances the region's tourism sector and bolsters Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan relations, emphasizing friendship and brotherhood.
