Baku State University Strengthens Ties with Bukhara State Medical Institute

Baku: Azerbaijan’s Baku State University (BSU) recently hosted a meeting with Laziz Niyazov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of Uzbekistan’s Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino. The primary focus of the meeting was on the implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two institutions in May 2025.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, BSU Vice-Rector for International Relations Shahin Panahov emphasized that the memorandum aims to enhance academic cooperation. This will be achieved through student and faculty exchanges, the establishment of scientific and pedagogical links, and joint research projects.

Laziz Niyazov proposed several joint scientific research initiatives, particularly in the fields of biology, chemistry, informatics, pharmacy, and genetics, as part of the memorandum’s framework. Both sides expressed optimism about the future of their collaboration and anticipated further development and achievements.
