Baku-Tashkent Relations Serve Turkic World’s Interests, Former Ambassador Says

Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's state visit to Uzbekistan underscores the great emphasis Baku places on its relations with the Turkic World. The Azerbaijani leader's statement 'Turkic World is our family. We have no other family' has gained a strategic substance highlighting cooperation and integration among the Turkic states, Hulusi Kili§, former Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan, told AZERTAC.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev's state visit has not only reaffirmed the positive tendencies in bilateral relations but has also determined future avenues of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan alliance.

He described Azerbaijan's strategic significance in the South Caucasus, while Uzbekistan is recognized as one of the major hubs in Central Asia.

Hulusi Kili§ concluded that Ankara views cooperation and integration across the Turkic World as one of the top priorities of its foreign policy.
