Baku: Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) transported over 7.3 million passengers between January and August of this year, marking an 18% increase compared to the same period last year, ADY told APA-Economics.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, 6.9 million passengers were carried on the Absheron Circular Railway, representing a 17% growth. Additionally, 396,000 passengers traveled on interregional routes, which saw a 15% growth. Meanwhile, the international Baku-Tbilisi-Baku route served 53,000 passengers during the reporting period.
In August of this year, a 24% growth was recorded in overall passenger transportation, totaling 913,568 passengers.
