Baku to Host International Seminar on Trade Facilitation Between Eastern Europe and SPECA Countries

Baku: The 20th International Capacity Building Seminar on “Facilitating Transport and Trade between Eastern Europe and SPECA (United Nations Special Programme for the Economy of Central Asia)” is scheduled to take place in Baku on December 11-12. This event is organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in collaboration with the Permanent Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Commission for the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (PS IGC TRACECA) and development partners.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the seminar aims to enhance trade and transport links between Eastern Europe and the SPECA regions. A significant focus will be on increasing knowledge and expertise in the digitalization of multimodal information exchange, following UN standards.

SPECA serves as an international platform established by the UN to bolster economic development, regional cooperation, and the integration of Central Asian countries into international markets. The SPECA initiative includes seve
n member countries: Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
