Baku Welcomes 58th IAP Executive Committee Meeting Amidst Major International Events

BAKU — The 58th Executive Committee meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) convened in Baku on Saturday, setting the stage for the IAP's 29th Annual Conference and General Gathering.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting highlighted Azerbaijan's prosecutorial reforms under the guidance of President Ilham Aliyev. Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev emphasized the nation's contributions to the IAP and upcoming international events, including the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. He described these engagements as proof of Azerbaijan's growing international stature and the global trust it has garnered.

The discussions at the meeting covered the IAP's future strategies, international relations, leadership elections, new member admissions, and activity reports. A significant decision was the selection of Singapore and Al-Riyadh for the upcoming 30th and 31st IAP Annual Conferences and General Meetings, respectively.

Established in 1995, the IAP stands as the sole global body representing prosecutors, boasting over 183 organizational members from 177 countries.
