ATHENS – Farid Mansurov, Vice President of the Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee, attended the 6th European Olympic Academies Congress held in Athens. The event focused on discussions around the future of the Olympic Movement, particularly in light of the 33rd Summer Olympic Games recently held in Paris.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Congress addressed the ways in which modern sports must evolve to meet the needs of younger generations while preserving cultural traditions. Key topics included “Olympic program as a part of tradition and changes,” “Current situation and prospects,” “Paris-2024 heritage and message to the world,” and “Joint cooperation of universities with the National Olympic Academy.”
The Congress concluded with an awards ceremony hosted by the European Olympic Academy, reinforcing its mission to unite the National Olympic Academies across Europe in promoting Olympic values, philosophy, and ideals.
