Bayern Munich Captain Manuel Neuer Suffers Hamstring Injury

Munich: Manuel Neuer is set to miss Bayern Munich’s final game of 2025 after the club confirmed their captain had suffered a hamstring injury on Matchday 14.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Bayern announced the news following their 2-2 draw with Mainz at the Allianz Arena on Sunday, stating that their skipper “suffered a torn muscle fibre in his right hamstring.”

The 39-year-old has been a consistent presence for Bayern, featuring in all but two top-flight fixtures so far this term. However, he is now expected to miss a third game when Bayern travels to Heidenheim on Matchday 15. Despite Neuer’s absence, Vincent Kompany’s team remains unbeaten after 14 matchdays and has opened up a nine-point gap at the top of the table.

If Neuer is unable to participate in their final outing of 2025, Kompany will be keen for his number one to return to action in time for their first game of 2026 when they host Wolfsburg on 11 January. In the interim, Jonas Urbig will take on the goalkeeping responsibilities for Bayern.
