Baku: A Belgian traveler has expressed concerns over the international community’s lack of support for Azerbaijan’s demining efforts in its recently liberated territories. Yves Bouvie, leader of the Piki Reels Club and a Belgian citizen, highlighted the progress made in these areas during his third visit.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Bouvie observed significant construction work and ongoing demining activities in the liberated territories. He noted that more than 1 million mines, reportedly planted by Armenians, have been identified, and clearance operations are underway. Bouvie emphasized that the absence of international assistance in Azerbaijan’s demining efforts is a concerning issue, suggesting that global support could greatly aid in addressing this challenge.
