BEU Launches Admission for 2026/2027 Dual-Degree Program in Information Technologies

Baku: For the 2026/2027 academic year, the "Information Technologies" specialty has become a focal point for admissions under the international dual-degree program (BEU-INHA DDP) between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and INHA University from the Republic of Korea. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance educational opportunities in information technologies.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the program equips students with essential theoretical and practical skills in areas such as programming, computer networks, databases, information security, artificial intelligence, and data analysis. Graduates will be prepared to thrive in various high-demand professions, including roles as software engineers, data analysts, and artificial intelligence specialists.

Since its inception in 2020, the BEU-INHA DDP has aligned with the "State Program for Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in Azerbaijan for 2019-2023." The program's extension until 2030 follows an order signed by President Ilham Aliyev, aiming to bolster the international competitiveness of Azerbaijan's higher education system.

The program adopts a 3+1 model, culminating in dual bachelor's degrees in "Information and Communication Engineering" from INHA University and "Information Technologies" from BEU. A distinctive feature is the full financial support for students' year-long study in Korea, covered by the State Program.

Admission to this dual-degree program involves a rigorous selection process based on the State Examination Center's (SEC) entrance exams and an internal examination conducted by INHA University. Azerbaijani citizens meeting the SEC's threshold for the 1st specialty group are eligible to apply. Ultimately, 26 students will secure a place in the "Information Technologies" specialty.

Applicants must also pass an internal exam in mathematics, physics, and English, administered by BEU and INHA University. Required documents must be submitted online by August 1, 2026. The examination is scheduled for August 4, 2026, with results announced two days later.

Candidates admitted to the program are officially registered and exempt from further SEC specialty selections. Those not admitted are given ample opportunity to participate in subsequent SEC specialty selection stages.
