Bodies of Two Teenagers Recovered from Sea Off Baku’s Shikh Beach

Baku: As reported, based on information received about the drowning of two people at sea on Shikh beach in Sabail district of Baku city, divers and rescuers of the State Service for Control of Small Vessels and Water Rescue of the Ministry of Emergency Situations immediately launched a search, the Press Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations told APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the bodies of Hajiyev Ilgar Vugar and Garayev Sabir Rizvan, both born in 2008, who drowned at sea, were found in the water, recovered, and handed over to the relevant authorities. The tragic incident prompted an immediate response from rescue teams.

The 112 hotline of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received initial information about the drowning of two people at sea on Shikh beach in the Sabail district of Baku city. Consequently, divers and rescuers of the State Service for Control of Small Vessels and Rescue in Water Basins of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were promptly involved in the search efforts.

At the time of the report, the search and recovery operation for the two teenagers was ongoing, highlighting the urgent response by the Ministry of Emergency Situations to such incidents. The unfortunate discovery of their bodies underscores the persistent risks associated with swimming in unmonitored areas.
