Bonaire to Submit Draft Resolution on Decolonization to United Nations


OUAGADOUGOU — Bonaire, a colony of the Netherlands, is set to submit a draft resolution to the United Nations in October 2024, seeking to join the “G24” project as part of its decolonization efforts.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Abbas Abbasov, Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), announced that Bonaire’s leadership will present the resolution during an upcoming UN session. Abbasov highlighted that Baku has become an international platform for addressing decolonization issues, with a conference dedicated to Bonaire set to take place on August 22. This conference is expected to further Bonaire’s push for international recognition and support in its decolonization process.
