BP to Partially Suspend Operations at Central Azeri Platform for Scheduled Maintenance

Baku: BP will partially suspend operations at the Central Azeri platform within the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli oil and gas field block in August this year for scheduled maintenance work, said Giovanni Cristofoli, BP's regional president for Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Trkiye (AGT), during a meeting with media representatives specializing in the oil and gas sector, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the platform's operations will not be completely halted during the maintenance period, but only partially suspended. Giovanni Cristofoli assured that the 11-day break will not affect oil production at the platform.

The planned maintenance is part of BP's ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and efficiency of its operations in the region. The Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli field is a significant contributor to the country's oil production, and BP's decision to conduct partial operations during maintenance aims to minimize disruption.
