Baku: BP’s direct spending on local labor, services, and materials in the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Trkiye (AGT) region amounted to USD 370.6 million last year, marking a 13.3% increase from the previous year.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this expenditure was detailed in BP’s report on its first-quarter operations in Azerbaijan.
The document highlights that BP allocated USD 159.8 million through joint ventures with local partners, spanning 14 entities. Furthermore, BP’s in-country expenses for foreign contractors reached USD 76.8 million across 62 companies.
BP also invested USD 115.2 million in 186 small and medium-sized enterprises and spent USD 18.8 million on 20 state-owned companies during the reporting period.
