BAKU — During the recent Pre-COP29 Preliminary Conference on Climate Change, André Corrêa do Lago, the Brazilian Secretary of Climate, Energy, and Environment, announced Brazil's readiness to provide renewable energy solutions to developing countries. The announcement was made in Baku, where international delegates gathered to discuss global climate objectives ahead of COP29.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Corrêa do Lago highlighted Brazil's significant achievements in renewable energy, stating, "In Brazil, 90% of our electricity and 49% of all energy already comes from renewable sources." He expressed Brazil’s commitment to using its experience to aid other nations, particularly developing countries, in enhancing their renewable energy capacities.

The secretary underscored the urgency of the situation in Baku, noting the local increase in emissions and the need for innovative solutions to combat this rise. His presence in Baku emphasizes Brazil’s proactive role in the global climate dialogue, aiming to reinforce renewable energy agendas and share successful strategies on an international scale.

As host of the upcoming COP30, Brazil aims to leverage its expertise in renewable energy to spearhead discussions and initiatives that will further global sustainability goals, particularly focusing on support for developing nations.
