British Airways Mumbai – London flight makes emergency landing in Azerbaijan

A Mumbai-London British Airways flight Boeing-777 declared an emergency over Iranian airspace and was rerouted to land at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku, on December 11. The apparent reason, by a passenger who seems to be on the flight, was smoke in the first class cabin of the flight.

The captain of the Boeing-777 aircraft decided that the passengers should leave the plane.

As stated, “the passengers will be accommodated in the transit zone of the airport. They, if desired, will be provided with everything needed, including food and beverages.

135 passengers and 17 crew members were on board Boeing-777. The plane made a successful landing and is at the Heydar Aliyev Airport now. The Baku airport is ready to provide the passengers with appropriate assistance.
