Baku: British company “Anglo-Asian Mining Plc.” is set to significantly increase its gold production in Azerbaijan this year. “We plan to produce 28,000 to 33,000 ounces of gold in Azerbaijan this year,” stated Reza Vaziri, Chief Executive Officer of the company, which is involved in the production of gold, silver, and copper in the region, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Reza Vaziri also highlighted the company’s copper production goals, forecasting an output of 6,500 to 6,800 tonnes. Copper is becoming an increasingly important part of the company’s production strategy. The company’s production in 2025 is expected to see a significant increase compared to 2024, which was affected by a partial shutdown. Vaziri expressed satisfaction with the projected turnover for 2025, which is anticipated to be the highest annual turnover for the group. He noted that 2025 will be a milestone year for Anglo-Asian Mining Plc. as they plan to increase their copper production, preparing to bring larger copper assets such as Garadag and Xarxar into production in the coming years.
For the 2025 financial year, the company has calculated the price of gold per ounce at 2,800 US dollars, and the price of copper per ton is set at 9,000 dollars. It is worth recalling that in 2024, Anglo-Asian Mining Plc.’s gold production amounted to 15,073 ounces, while copper production reached 377 tons.
