British company may appeal to court over the Illegal exploitation of Azerbaijan’s “Gizilbulag” deposite by Armenian-EXCLUSİVE

“”Anglo-Asian Mining Plc.” of Great Britain, which is engaged in gold, silver and copper mining in Azerbaijan may appeal to the court in connection with the illegal use of the “Gizilbulag” mine”, the finance director of “Anglo-Asian Mining Plc.” Ilham Khalilov told APA-Economics in his exclusive statement.

He noted that it is considered to appeal to the international court in connection with the issue: “It was not yet clarified that either the Azerbaijani government or “Anglo-Asian Mining Plc.” will directly raise the issue in this regard. At the same time, the clarifications must be conducted regarding the volume of the damage. But it is not allowed yet to conduct clarifications there”.

  1. Khalilov noted that after the political issues were resolved, the company will start exploration works in the contract field in “Gizilbulag” and “Demirli” located above it.

Note that the Gizilbulag Contract area locates in the Aghdara area controlled by Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh. Contract area Damirli is the gold-rich part of the copper-molybdenum deposit. There is information that Armenians produce up to 35,000 ounces (about 1 ton) of gold here per year. Extracting gold from the surface of the Earth causes serious ecological and other secondary complications.

Remind that on December 3, taking this into account, employees of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Service on Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy, and “AzerGold” Closed Joint Stock Company and wanted to meet with the leadership of the Russian peacekeepers and conduct monitoring in the area, but they were not allowed to inspect the area.

Since the last day, eco-activists and representatives of NGOs continued their action on the Lachin road.

Anglo-Asian Mining is engaged in production in Azerbaijan within the framework of the PSA (Production Sharing Agreement) signed on August 21, 1997. Gizilbulag is one of the fields included in the contract.
