Baku: In the first half of the year, total oil transport through Azerbaijan's trunk pipelines reached 12,702,300 tons, representing an 8.8% decline year-on-year. According to figures released by the State Statistics Committee, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) main export oil pipeline handled the vast majority of volume, accounting for 76.9% of all transit.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, domestically extracted crude constituted 82.3% of the total volume shipped through the BTC route, amounting to 10,453,900 tons. Transit volumes supplied from regional partners, namely Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, comprised the remaining 17.7%, totaling 2,248,400 tons.
