Baku: Sangcheol Lee, a professor at the Department of Statistics at INHA University in South Korea, has shared his insights on the recent summer school held at Baku Engineering University (BEU). This educational initiative is part of a dual-degree program between BEU and INHA University.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Professor Lee delivered a lecture titled "Introduction to Statistics" to students specializing in "Data Analytics" (Data Science). He explained that the course focused on teaching students methods to summarize data and represent it using graphs and statistical indicators. Lee emphasized the importance of these techniques in forming statistical conclusions about populations that cannot be directly observed, thus allowing for scientifically based decision-making. "Statistics is not merely a collection of numbers. Behind every piece of data lies a certain event, process, or story," he stressed, highlighting the purpose of statistical analysis as uncovering the meanings and patterns within data.

Professor Lee also shared his positive experiences in Azerbaijan, marking his first visit to Baku with his family. He expressed his appreciation for the hospitality he received from the locals, stating, "The people I have met in the city are extremely kind, warm, and hospitable. They have always been ready to help me, even with the smallest matters." He noted his satisfaction with the time spent in Baku and the warm welcome he and his family received.

The summer school at BEU, attended by INHA University's faculty, aimed to enhance students' theoretical understanding, develop their practical skills, and provide them with international academic exposure. A dedicated faculty of 13 members from INHA University participated in the teaching process, contributing to the program's success.
