Cabinet Approves Dress Code for Teachers in State Schools

Baku:The Cabinet of Ministers has established dress code requirements for educators in state general education institutions. This move is part of implementing a Presidential Decree amending the Law 'On General Education.'

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the new regulations aim to promote a professional dress culture and ensure a unified approach within these institutions. Teachers' attire should be professional, clean, neat, simple, and suitable for the season. It must not impede their work or distract students, while also fostering a positive attitude towards appropriate attire among students.

The dress code mandates that educators' clothing align with the secular principles of general education. Clothing inappropriate for pedagogical activities or not suitable for the students' age characteristics is prohibited. Teachers are required to adhere to these guidelines both during school hours and at official events where they represent the school.

At events celebrating Azerbaijani history, culture, and values, educators may wear national clothing or its elements if approved by the Pedagogical Council. Importantly, this decision pertains to a dress code, not a uniform. Experts highlight that adherence to professional attire standards positively influences organizational, pedagogical, and managerial aspects, enhancing the school's educational environment.

Education specialists further suggest that, much like students wearing uniforms, teacher dress codes contribute to the school's corporate culture and public image.
