Baku: A fatwa has been issued regarding the month of Muharram, the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) told APA. The announcement marks an important religious observance for Muslims in the region.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the fatwa states that, based on official calculations by the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory, the year 1446 of the Hijri lunar calendar is coming to a close. The new year 1447, which begins on Muharram 1, is anticipated to commence on June 26, 2025, according to the Gregorian calendar.
