Caucasus Muslims Office Plans Representation in Vatican

Baku: The Caucasus Muslims Office has announced plans to open a representation in the Vatican. After Azerbaijan regained its independence, the organization expanded its activities to include areas historically influenced by it, such as the North Caucasus and Derbent. This expansion aligns with the Law 'On Freedom of Religious Belief,' as stated by Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, during a joint event with the Western Azerbaijan Community, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Caucasus Muslims Office currently maintains representations and qazis in Istanbul, Tbilisi, Batumi, and Derbent. Allahshukur Pashazade emphasized ongoing efforts to broaden their geographical reach, mentioning ongoing discussions about establishing a representation in the Vatican. The Caucasus Muslims Office, based in Baku, is a unique regional public-religious organization operating in Azerbaijan and representing Muslims in Georgia, Armenia, and the North Caucasus.
