Baku: In 2026, the surplus of the current account is expected to amount to USD 3 billion, equivalent to 3.7% of GDP, APA-Economics reports. This projection was included in the Central Bank of Azerbaijan's statement regarding the main directions of monetary policy for 2026.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan indicated that monetary policy in the coming year will be conducted within the current framework. A stable exchange rate will serve as the primary anchor for maintaining price stability. Forecasts suggest that the predicted surplus in the current account of the balance of payments next year will contribute to maintaining equilibrium in the foreign exchange market.
