ASHGABAT: Central Asian countries and South Korea have agreed to intensify their cooperative efforts in tackling climate change and achieving sustainable development. This agreement was reached during the second meeting of parliamentary speakers held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, as part of the C5+1 format discussions.

According to Trend News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation to improve communication and collaboration among the states. The participants emphasized their commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and discussed ways to jointly tackle environmental challenges.

The conference was structured in two segments, with the first session concentrating on strengthening economic ties, exploring the digital economy, and enhancing industrial collaboration. The latter part of the meeting was dedicated to addressing environmental issues and exploring avenues for sustainable development.

Discussions also covered the exchange of experiences in legal regulations,
support for parliamentary friendship groups, and the adjustment of legislative mechanisms aimed at fostering closer relationships between the participating countries.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a joint declaration, underscoring the commitment of Central Asian states and South Korea to deepen partnerships in ecological, economic, and inter-parliamentary fields.
