Central Bank of Azerbaijan Engages with Fintech Association on Crypto-Asset Regulations

Baku: Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Vusal Khalilov held a meeting with representatives of the Azerbaijan Fintech Association. During this meeting, the central topic was the preparation of regulatory acts on crypto-assets.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the discussions revolved around the results in the financial technologies and payments sector for the second quarter of 2026. These discussions highlighted key trends within the ecosystem and explored future development directions. A significant part of the meeting was dedicated to implementing a comprehensive regulatory framework for crypto-assets and the operations of crypto-asset service providers.

The meeting also included an exchange of views regarding the strategic targets set for the sector's next stage. Initiatives aimed at enhancing supervisory tools to prevent fraud and illegal transactions were likewise a focal point of discussion.
