Baku: Certificates were presented to 20 students who successfully completed the first stage of the distance Chinese language courses at the Heydar Aliyev Center.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event was attended by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and Arzu Aliyeva, Head of the Baku Media Center. The initiative, supported by Leyla Aliyeva in collaboration with the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), the Confucius Institute at Azerbaijan University of Languages, and Beijing Foreign Studies University, has been organizing these courses at UNEC since 2019. The third intake of students commenced in December 2024.
Adalat Muradov, Rector of UNEC, highlighted the growing interest in the courses, noting that the number of applications has increased significantly, showcasing the broad opportunities the courses provide for Azerbaijanis both domestically and internationally. Kamal Abdulla, Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, emphasized Azerbaijan's historical role in cultural exchange between East and West, and the importance of understanding Chinese culture, language, and literature.
Graduates Turana Kamalova and Aydan Gurbanova expressed that the courses offer valuable personal development opportunities. The program is accessible to Azerbaijanis from various regions and those residing in China and other countries. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation covers fees for families of martyrs, veterans, and socially vulnerable individuals. The courses accommodate a wide age range, from 14 to 74 years old.
The event concluded with an artistic program by course participants.
