Baku: Cooperation between CIS countries in transport and logistics is crucial for the economic integration of the region, emphasized Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC (ADY). Speaking at the plenary meeting of the Council of Railway Transport of the CIS countries in Baku, Rustamov highlighted the role of enhanced railway transport interaction in fostering sustainable regional development.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Rustamov pointed out that joint decisions made in collaboration with international partners, alongside the adoption of unified technical and operational standards, significantly optimize cargo transportation and leverage transit capabilities. He expressed confidence that such coordinated efforts enhance the sustainability and competitiveness of the region’s transport network.
Rustamov further elaborated on the importance of technological advancements, stating that digitalizing operations, using centralized transit systems, and real-time shipment tracking are essential components of this process. “Azerbaijan Railways” is actively pursuing several innovative projects to advance these areas.
